Founders

The late Dr. Guru Mathur, Professor of Chemical Engineering at the University of Windsor, was concerned by the shortage of funds available to widows in India for the education of their children. His ideas inspired several friends to take action, establishing in 1996 a chapter of the charitable organization Vishvas.

Then, in 1998 The Canadian World Education Foundation (CWEF) was established, with Drs. Ronald Barron, Daniel Britten, Richard Caron, Om Chandna, and Purna Kaloni - Mathematics Professors at the University of Windsor - as the first five officers and directors.
